Music at St. Stephen’s
Music is a large part of our worship at St. Stephen’s. During the 10:30 am Mass on Sundays our superb, largely volunteer choir, conducted by music director Scott Bracken-Tripp, sings a fine repertoire of Anglican anthems, psalms, and motets.
The Choir always welcomes new members. If you would like to join, please email Scott at firstname.lastname@example.org or come to a rehearsal. Choir rehearsals are on Thursday nights from 7:30 to 9 pm in a meeting hall above the Great Hall.
Our Music Director
Scott Bracken-Tripp holds a Master of Music degree from Florida International University, and a Bachelor of Music degree in voice performance from Florida Southern College. Scott is in demand as a soloist and conductor across the state of Florida, having performed as such in operas, concerts, recitals, and galas with such organizations at the Central Florida Bach Society, the Imperial Symphony Orchestra, the Alhambra Orchestra, Arts at St. John’s, and others. He is on the faculty at the Florida International University School of Music, and is a doctoral student at the University of Miami, where he studies Vocal Pedagogy and Choral Conducting.
In addition to the good fortune of having our excellent choir and music director, we are blessed with a three manual Schantz organ. That means our organ has three keyboards. In addition to the usual two, a third, or “Choir” manual is added on at the bottom. It plays a variety of delicate stops that are most suitable for accompaniment.
