Lay Leaders

Lynette McGuinness chairs the Vestry as our Senior Warden.   She has been a member of the St. Stephen’s Community since 2000.  She previously served on the St. Stephen’s Vestry as Junior Warden from 2011-2013 and was co-chair of the Stewardship committee in 2014.  She is also a lector, chalice bearer, usher, counter and bread baker.  Lynette is a partner in the law firm of Krinzman, Huss & Lubetsky, LLP, and has been a commercial litigator specializing in real estate law for the past 26 years.  Lynette has two children: Connor, a college freshman, and Camryn, a 10th grader.  Camryn was baptized at St. Stephen’s on Easter, 2012.

2014 artshow lores05Bob Coulombe is Treasurer.  He has been a member of St. Stephen’s since 2002.   A local attorney, Bob has teaches Sunday school and has been active in youth ministries.  He is an art show volunteer, our stewardship chair, a former Senior Warden, and a member of the Finance Committee.  He is the father of Danny, Kylie, and Ciara and husband “to my better half,” Tara O’Brien. Bob has been a Lawyer for many years.

Eric CopelandEric Copeland is Chancellor of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church.  He also serves as a member of the Finance Committee and Heritage Fund Board and is an usher and an art show volunteer.  Eric is a local attorney.

Nancy Denton is a lifelong Episcopalian and was baptized at St. Stephen’s.  She is co-chair of the St. Stephen’s AIDS Ministry, monthly community brunch organizer, counter, and our Art Show volunteer coordinator for over 20 years.  She has also taught Sunday school and been a youth leader here.  Nancy is a retired pre-school teacher.

Camille Groom is a retired registered nurse in Community Health Nursing and our St. Stephen’s parish nurse. She teaches part time at a local college and has been a teacher for many years. A graduate of Boston College, she lived in Virginia Beach, VA, until moving to Coconut Grove three years ago where she met Pr Willie and became a member of St. Stephen’s. She has two adult children and five grandchildren.

MargaretLongA St Stephen’s Parishioner for 10 years, Margaret Long is has volunteered in many capacities, helping out in the Art Show and set-up and break-down for almost every church function.  She is now our Junior Warden, as well as being a member of the Finance Committee.

Carmela McIntire and her family joined St. Stephen’s 21 years ago. She has served on the Day School Board, has volunteered regularly at the Art Show, and participated in the Day School Visioning Day in fall 2015. For the last 14 years, she has been a member of the choir. Carmela recently retired from the English Department at Florida International University, where she taught for 34 years.

Allison McNeill attends St. Stephen’s with her husband Jarret and their two children, Tristan and Ophelia. She and her family have been members of St Stephen’s since moving to Coconut Grove in 2015.  Tristan was baptized at St. Stephen’s and Ophelia will soon follow in his footsteps. Allison has volunteered at the Art Show and attended the Visioning Day in the Spring of 2016. She is a local attorney specializing in litigation.  Alison will serve a two-year Vestry term.

Sally James has been a member of St. Stephen’s for 45 years. She is a member of the AIDS Ministry and the community brunch committee; she heads finance for our Art Show and is a counter.  She has served on the Vestry, the Altar Guild, and the stewardship committee, and as a Chalice Bearer.  Now retired, she was the executive assistant to the Bishop and assistant to the Dean of the Cathedral, DIOSEF.

Jorge del Valle and his wife, Kara del Valle, and two children, Mia and Luke, have attended St. Stephens for approximately 10 years. Mia and Luke were baptized at St. Stephens and Jorge and Kara were received into the Episcopal church here. Jorge is a lector, has been a doorkeeper during Sunday school and this year is also teaching Sunday school. Jorge del Valle has been a real estate attorney for over 20 years and is currently General Counsel to a real estate investment and management company.  Jorge’s hobbies include suffering with his Miami Dolphins and warm hugs.

A.R.BarringtonA.R. Barrington has been attending St. Stephen’s since 2010. He has participated in the Christmas tree sale and art show, cooked turkeys for our Thanksgiving community dinner, hosted a cocktail party for new families, hosted a reception for last year’s annual campaign, and audited the church’s financial statements.  A.R. works for Barrington Heritage, a family-owned real estate development company.  A.R. and his wife Lauren have two children: Trip and Ben.


Ron Hoenig moved to Miami to pursue a Master’s in Marine Affairs and Policy from University of Miami, where he currently works as a research scientist and aquaculture consultant. The Hoenig family joined St. Stephen’s in 2013. Ron, his wife, Brooke, and their two children, Harlan and Edie have collectively been received, confirmed and baptized at St. Stephen’s. They participate in Sunday School, fundraisers, cooking turkeys, and helping whenever they can. Ron will serve a one-year term on the Vestry.

Vivian Guzman is a Miami native with degrees from St. Thomas University and FIU. She has worked mostly in the public sector in social services, community outreach and public utilities. She has attended St. Stephen’s for 7 years, was confirmed in 2013, and was married in St. Stephen’s last year. She shares her life with her wife, Anna, and a bunch of cats.

Julie Gabriel began attending St. Stephen’s in 2005 while studying at the University of Miami School of Law. With her husband Brian, Julie leads our Intermediate Youth Group. Julie and Brian welcomed their first daughter, Elizabeth, in December 2013, who was baptized at St. Stephen’s in the Spring. Julie is the Director of Everglades Policy at Audubon Florida where she manages litigation efforts and advocates for Everglades restoration before federal agencies and Congress.
