“Invest 2 for Youth”

9:30 – 10:20

Our nursery is staffed by early childhood professionals with whom you can entrust your precious infants and toddlers under the age of three. Our volunteer Sunday School teachers are well-trained and will offer your children ages three through fifth grade the Godly Play curriculum.

Nursery Care: Nursery care is available for children under three from 9:30 a.m. through the conclusion of the 10:30 Mass. Our nursery is located in the church building; parents are asked to sign their children in and provide their cell phone numbers to the attendants so that if the need arises they can be located while attending the adult education offerings.

Godly PlaySunday School: Sunday School uses the Godly Play curriculum for children ages three through fifth grade. They are guided through the church’s year with all its symbolism and stories. The curriculum is “hands on” and offers children a variety of ways to grow deeper in their faith. Each December the Sunday School children and youth participate in the annual Christmas Pageant.

Three to seven-year-olds who attend a special Children’s Chapel from 10:30 to 11 am are escorted back to the church at the time of the Offertory to receive Holy Communion with their families. Children’s Chapel is staffed by clergy and lay volunteers.

Third, fourth, and fifth graders are invited to participate in out Intermediate Youth Group for “tweens.” This group meets monthly for social and service projects.

The Middle/High School Youth Group meets each Sunday morning from September through May in the Hingston Youth Cottage located behind the Great Hall. It offers Journey to Adulthood, a program of spiritual growth, service opportunities, and social events for kids in Middle and High School. In 2012 this group celebrated their Rite 13 liturgy, acknowledging taking the first steps on their journey to adulthood and enjoyed a weekendAttachment-1-202 Urban Adventure in New York City.

Third graders and older are invited to participate the Acolyte program and serve as torch bearers, thurifers, boat bearers and crucifers at the 10:30 Mass.

First graders and older are also invited to participate in the Children’s Choir. The Children’s Choir practices at noon on Sundays and sings monthly at the 10:30 Mass.
